The Mexico City Council is having its regular meeting tonight.
The first item on the agenda is a Resolution to give the Audrain County Historical Society just over $7,000 out of the tourism tax. The funds will go towards the 2012 “Walk Back in Time” event.
Also, three ordinances will be discussed.
One will allow the city to lease land at the Mexico airport for a privately-owned hangar.
Another extends the hours of operations for restaurants or bars that have outdoor seating. The “Sidewalk Cafe Permit” currently makes businesses take down their outside seating at 9:00 p.m. The new ordinance would allow them to stay open until 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sunday, business owners can keep the seating out until 6:00 p.m.
The final ordinance would give the City Manager the authority to issue a burn ban during droughts.
We will be reviewing the decisions of the City Council on the Morning Report, Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. on KXEO.
