Construction Scheduled For Downtown Square in Mexico

The contractor hired to microseal some Mexico streets is intending to start next week on the project and the first area the company will do is the Mexico Square. Mexico City Public Works Director Kensey Russell says starting Tuesday, work will take place on Monroe Street along the square. Wednesday will see work on Washington Street; Thursday, it’s Jefferson Street on the schedule and on Friday, work will take place on Jackson Street. The work is scheduled to start at 5:30 every morning and Russell says the contractor plans on having the traffic lanes open by mid-morning each day of the week. Also throughout next week, crews will microseal other streets in Mexico. On Tuesday, it’ll be South Washington from Breckenridge to Central, South Jefferson from Boulevard to Jefferson Road and West Liberty from Missouri to Morris. On Wednesday, additional streets include Webster from Boulevard to West Street and Robin Hood from Kentucky to Hendricks Street. Thursday it’s North Clark from Jackson to Monroe and Teal Lake Road from South Clark to the east side of the bridge. Friday’s schedule will also include Lakeview from South Clark to west end of the Industrial Park.
