A meeting and tour of area corn and soybean fields for area farmers dealing with this summer’s drought issues is being sponsored by the Audrain County University of Missouri Extension Office. Extension officials say the meeting will begin Monday evening at the Audrain County 4-H Center southwest of Mexico at 5:15. Those gathered will then travel to the Isgrig farm to view a corn field. Another group will then meet at the 4-H Center at 6:15 and they will then travel to the Hollenberg and Sell soybean fields to look at that crop. The two groups will then reconvene at the 4-H Center at 7:15 to discuss drought issues that may linger into the next growing season. A supper of sandwiches and chips will be provided. The meeting is free. Call the extension office at 581-3231 by noon on Monday to let extension officials know you plan to attend.
