Thanks to U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill, the Mexico Veteran’s Home will soon see much-needed improvements to a couple of its critical systems. McCaskill announced Monday afternoon just over one-point-three million dollars had been awarded to the Mexico home to upgrade the building’s electrical and HVAC systems. McCaskill, who has long been a strong advocate for the state’s veterans, sent a letter last month to the Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs urging a quick answer to the home’s grant request. Twice in the past the home has had to delay the work because they have not been able to get a final approval letter from the government. With the announcement of the grant, the work can now move forward.
