Fire crews with Mexico Public Safety responded Tuesday morning to a two-alarm fire at The Corner Storage Units on west Clay Street. Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the third building south of Clay Street. Once crews were able to get into the units, they found the fire had spread to most of the storage units. About 30 firefighters battled the blaze that was called in at about 6:30 Tuesday morning by a passerby. Public Safety officials say the passersby noticed smoke crossing Clark Street as they were driving down the street. Crews remained on the scene early Tuesday afternoon looking for hot spots and making sure the fire was out. Officials say no cause has been determined as of yet.
