Two Missouri Supermarket Chains Affected By Beef Recall

At least two supermarket chains in Missouri are affected by a Canadian beef recall that could be contaminated with e-coli. USDA officials say Gerbes Stores and Dillion’s Grocery Stores in the state are affected by the recall of meats produced by the XL Foods Corporation of Canada. Products subject to the recall include, but are not limited to, steaks, roasts, mechanically tenderized steaks and roasts, and ground beef. Because of the contamination, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has temporarily suspended XL Food’s business license. No Wal-Mart stores in Missouri are affected by the recall.
