A mechanical failure on an HVAC unit is to blame for a fire alarm going off at the McMillan Elementary School this (Tuesday) morning. Public Safety responded to the school around 6:30 this (Tuesday) morning. The school district staff have repaired the equipment and heat has been restored to the building.
Jefferson City Vehicles Vandalized Over Past Several Days
The Jefferson City Police Department is seeing an increase of property damage to vehicles over the past several days. According to the department since Saturday over 15 vehicles had broken windows. Most of the damage is reportedly around the same neighborhoods. An investigation into the crimes is continuing.
Audrain County United Way Fundraising Update
The United Way in Audrain County is continuing to push for their $125,000 goal this year. Melissa Buckman Young Audrain County United Way 2017 Chairperson says they are currently at about 20 percent of reaching their goal.
