Matt Carpenter hit a two run home run for the Redbirds, and Cardinal veteran hurler Adam Wainwright continues to have a good spring training lowering his era to .84, pitching five innings without allowing an earned run.
The Kansas City Royals beat the Chicago Cubs 7-6.
