A Mexico man accused of torturing and stabbing 55 year old Mark Johnson at a campground at the Lake of the Ozarks has requested a speedy trial.
John Joe Powell was allegedly found standing over Johnson’s body that was tied to a vehicle with a paracord.
Powell reportedly told investigators he dragged and stabbed Johnson after Johnson threatened to kill his wife.
The campsite showed a great deal of blood, along with a trail of blood from the campsite to where Johnson and Powell were found.
He is being held without bond on charges of first degree murder and armed criminal action.
