The Boone County Fire Protection District reports a natural cover fire on Highway 124 and Gano Chance Road this afternoon [Thursday] Assistant Fire Chief Gale Blomenkamp says a tractor knocked down power lines in the area, sparking the fire. Traffic was slow through the area throughout the afternoon, and the poles are being replaced.
