Mexico Public Safety responded to a small incident at Hardin Park this (Wednesday) morning.
Several people in the park located at South Clark and Clay Street reported seeing smoke coming from underneath a tree at around 8:30.
Crews responded and quickly put it out.
The official cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
It is believed that it may have been improperly discarded smoking materials that was enhanced being under the mulch of the tree.
No injuries reported.
