School is out for Mexico today (Friday) as the teachers in the district are taking part in a Professional Development Day.
Marci Minor Public Information Director for Mexico Schools says the meetings happen almost once a month and it is a chance for the teachers to become the student.
Minor says the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requires the district to spend 1 percent of the budget on the Professional Development Days.
