Conservation Agents Urge Proper Disposal Of Deer For The Upcoming Season

With the deer firearm season a little over a week away, Missouri Conservation Agents are speaking out about proper disposal of deer carcasses.

According to Missouri law, the unlawful disposition of a dead animal or littering is a class c misdemeanor.

Audrain County Conservation Agent Norman Steelman suggests placing the carcasses in the field from which they were taken or in the trash to prevent the spread of diseases such as Chronic Wasting Disease.

Steelman says to never throw a carcass in a waterway, including road ditches.
