A traffic stop in Mexico led to the arrest of a Centralia woman wanted on a drug warrant.
According to The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of South Morris Street for a traffic violation. During the course of the investigation, 23 year old Shayla Cates was identified as the passenger.
Cates was wanted for a failure to appear on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
When Cates was arrested she was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, clonazepam and marijuana.
She was taken to the Audrain County Jail.
