It is an extra busy time for officers at the Mexico Public Safety Department.
Chief Susan Rockett says officers are working overtime responding to fireworks related calls and getting ready for fireworks related events planned in the town.
Mexico has 2 fireworks events planned with the first at the Optimist Ball Field tomorrow (Thursday) night. Chief Rockett says it is important to know where you can not park.
The second display takes place will be on Friday, July 5th at Garfield Park and is being hosted by Tyronn Lue.
Chief Rockett says starting at 6 pm that night Tyronn Lue Boulevard will be closed down until the fireworks are over.
Both of the displays are expected to start around 9 or when it becomes dark.
