A Mexico man is now sentenced to multiple years in prison after appearing in a Callaway County Court this week.
According to court records 63 year old Samuel Walter Tarrants pleaded guilty to charges of failure to register a change of residence as a sex offender and distribution of a controlled substance on Monday.
Court documents say Tarrants admitted he failed to notify the Callaway County Sheriff of his change of residence last September and admitted to distributing methamphetamine to another person this past January.
The judge sentenced Tarrants to 4 years in prison for the registration violation and 7 years in prison on the drug charge.
