The Mexico Library had a late open this (Friday) morning after employees had to evacuate due to a gas leak.
Mexico-Audrain County Library Director Christal Bruner says when she arrived this (Friday) morning staff members were reporting a strong smell of gas.
The gas and hot water heater were shutoff and the library was able to open around 9:20 this (Friday) morning and will be open for regular hours the rest of the day.
