Administrators from the Mexico School District officially launched the Paws for Progress campaign at the Mexico High School Sports Complex on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Several stakeholders were invited to the informational meeting to hear about the $21 million no tax increase general obligation bond that will appear on the April 2nd ballot.
If the measure passes the Mexico School District will use the money for projects at the Mexico High School, McMillan Early Center, Eugene Field, Hawthorne, Mexico Middle School, Hart Career Building and at the Administrative Building.
Those in attendance at the Thursday meeting were given newly printed brochures and it was also announced there will be a Paws For Progress Facebook group launched where questions can be directed.

McMillan Early Learning Center
- Replace 31 Carrier rooftop units (HVAC)
- Playground renovations
Eugene Field Elementary
- Replace rooftop unit heat pumps
- New chain link fencing in front of campus
- Replace modified Bitumen/TPO roofing systems
- Playground renovations
Hawthorne Elementary
- Playground renovations
- Mexico Middle School
- Replace Carrier CAV and VAV systems
- Secure entry
- Classroom building addition

- Replace the Carrier split systems

- Replace the Sports Complex chair lift with a small elevator
