The Mexico High School baseball team went 2-0 in the Southern Boone Classic on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Game one saw Mexico shut out the North Callaway Thunderbirds 9-0.
Mexico starting pitcher Sam Ryan earned the win and pitched a no hitter.
Ryan went seven innings and struck out eight batters.
Mexico accumulated 11 hits in the game.
Austin Maxwell had a two RBI game and went 2-4 on the day.
Landon Hilderman, Chance McCarty, Ashton Belcher collected two hits each respectively.
Drew DeMint paced Mexico with two walks.
In game two on Saturday, Mexico’s offense continued to cook in a 16-9 victory over the Eldon Mustangs.
The Bulldogs piled up 12 hits in the game.
Chance McCarty, Ashton Belcher, Austin Maxwell, Zach Jahn each drove in two runs.
Landon Hilderman collected two hits for Mexico in four at bats.
Mexico finished 2-2 in the Southern Boone Classic and took 5th place.
