Two Centralia residents were taken to the hospital with moderate and serious injuries following a four-car accident in Adair County during the afternoon hours of Monday, September 17, 2024.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol accident report it happened on US 63, one mile south of Greentop, when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Brian L. Western of Greentop, Missouri stopped in the roadway to make a left turn and was hit in the rear by a vehicle driven by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Neil H. Mehta of Kirksville.
The collision forced Western’s vehicle into the southbound lane, where it struck a two vehicles, one driven by 22-year-old Keith E. Steen Jr. of Kirksville, and the other vehicle driven by 76-year-old Shirley Watt of Centralia.
Watt had serious injuries, Kennedy had moderate injuries and Steen Jr. had moderate injuries.
All three were taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
