It is a win or go home for the Mexico Bulldogs football team  when they battle the Kirksville Tigers in Week 1 of the District playoffs in Kirksville on Friday, November 1, 2024.

This a rematch from Week 7 between Mexico and Kirksville, when Kirksville came out on top 28-13 at Hawthorne Heights.

The game will be broadcast live on AM 1340 KXEO featuring a pre-game interview with Mexico head coach Steve Haag.

Kickoff is at 7.

The Rock Bridge Lady Bruins shut out the Helias Catholic Lady Crusaders 7 to 0 yesterday (Thursday) in Springfield to move on to the Class 5 State Tournament championship game.

The Bruins face Lafayette for the Class 5 State Title today (Friday) at 12:45.

The Father Tolton Lady Trailblazers defeated Westminster 7-1. Father Tolton will play Belton for the Class 4 softball championship this (Friday) morning at 10.

The 23-6 Paris Lady Coyotes will play 23-8 Gallatin at 11am this (Friday) morning at the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield for a trip to the Class 1 softball championship game.

Centralia Lady Panthers are playing Blair Oaks for a trip to the Class 3 championship in Springfield on Friday at 1:30pm.

The St. Louis Cardinals started the off season yesterday (Thursday) by declining three options attached to the contracts of starting pitchers Kyle Gibson, Lance Lynn and reliever Keynan Middleton.

Each player will receive a $1 million dollar buyout as a result.

According to several reports the moves were not unexpected as the club is looking to get younger and cheaper.

The St. Louis Blues were edged out in a 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers in Philly last (Thursday) night.

Nathan Walker scored for the Blues, which lost its third straight game.
