Mexico High School Boys And Girls Basketball Teams Magical Seasons Ends In State Quarterfinals

The Mexico High School boys and girls basketball teams finished their seasons as elite eight teams in the State Tournament for the 2024-2025 season.

Mexico Lady Bulldogs lost to MICDS 76-46 in St. Louis.

Senior Claire Hudson put up 17 points.

Freshman Alyssa Miller put up 10 points.

The Mexico girls end their season as District Champions with an overall record of 16-14.

Just hours after the Mexico girls completed their game, the Mexico Boys played their Quarterfinals game at the Mexico High School against the number 1 ranked team in Class 4 the Vashon Wolverines.

Mexico gave Vashon everything they wanted and more.

After a rough first quarter where Mexico would trail Vashon 24-13, the Bulldogs settled in.

Mexico would close the gap to just three points in the third quarter, however, Vashon would come roaring back and completed the 64-54 victory.

Mexico was led by senior Jaydon Eldridge who put up a game-high 20 points.

Senior PJ Perkins finished with 12 points and Charlie Fisher had a 12 point performance.

Mexico boys end their season with a 23-7 record, an undefeated 10-0 conference mark, another North Central Missouri Conference Championship, a District Championship for a second consecutive season and a second straight appearance the Quarterfinals of the State Tournament.
