Mexico wrestling head coach Gayle Adams announced he is stepping away from the program on Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2025.
Coach Adams says “I would not change a thing.
Mexico Wrestling is in a great place and I’m in a great place.
It’s been a wild ride from coaching some of the best wrestlers in the country, to teaching the beginners.
I hope I made a difference in people’s lives, because it has on mine.
I would like to thank all my wrestlers, coaches, families, the community and the Mexico School District for all the support over the years.
Thank you Mexico!! Bulldogtough!”
Coach Adams has been coaching with Mexico wrestling for 16 years and has been head coach for the last 13 years.
During that time he recorded over 200 wins, won a State Championship, coached 13 State Champions, had 21 State Finalists, had 120 State Qualifiers and coached 4 valedictorians.
Eight State Qualifiers will return to the Mexico High School Wrestling team next season.
