The Mexico City Council approved a rate increase at the Fairgrounds Aquatic Center during their meeting on Monday, Mar. 24, 2025.
General daily admission to the pool was $5, the fee will increase to $6 this season.
Mexico Parks and Recreation Director Chad Unterreiner told the Council that the reason for the increase was due to the cost of continual operations and labor and in particular the passage of Prop A which raised minimum wage.
Currently the minimum wage in Missouri is $13.75 an hour.
Minimum wage in Missouri will increase to $15.00 an hour in 2026.
