
A popular Mexico eatery is closed while damages are being assessed due to an accident over the weekend. Stacey’s Place, will face a rebuild of the front of its building after a driver crashed a vehicle into it.
According to Mexico Public Safety, just before 1pm on Sunday, an 88-year-old Mexico man lost control of his SUV, while traveling on East Liberty crashing through the building’s front wall. Around 35 people were inside at the time of the accident. Five sustained injuries, with one taken to University Hospital and later released.
The building suffered significant damage, and officials are working to secure it.
According to a Facebook post from owner Stacey Conklin, “Due to an unforeseen accident, we will be closed for repairs to the building. I will try to keep everyone updated on progress and approximate re-opening date.”
