Now it must wait for the PSC to grant the construction permit that deems the utility meets the public need for the service, has the financial and technical ability to provide it, and that the service is in the public interest.
If built, the plant will have a power capacity of 250 kilowatts. It is will be equipped with battery systems to hold power for future uses.
The cost of the project is undisclosed. A projected completion date is set for 2027. but much of that depends on if, and when, it can get PSC approval.
