The St. Louis Cardinals announced Friday that they have claimed 27-year-old right-handed pitcher Zak Kent off waivers from the Cleveland Guardians and added him to their 40-player roster.
The 6’3”, 220 lb. Kent debuted with the Guardians in 2025 and posted a 1-0 record with a 4.58 ERA and 16 strikeouts over 17.2 innings in 12 appearances.
He was originally selected by the Texas Rangers in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft out of Virginia Military Institute.
