
A 37-year-old Moberly woman has been arrested and charged with one county of 1st Degree Endangering Welfare of Child, 1st Degree Death of Child – No Sexual Contact, and four counts of 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Creating Substantial Risk x 4 after the accidental death of an 11-year-old child last month.
Jo Marie Timmons was charged in Randolph County Court after allegedly leaving a loaded gun laying around the residence on multiple occasions and housing her four kids in living conditions that were inadequate.
According to officers there was trash strewn throughout the residence, with a heavy smell of urine and feces and cockroach’s moving on the floors and walls of the unit, Numerous rooms had piles of feces in them.
The kids were routinely left in the house to fend for themselves.
The 11-year-old was accidentally shot by a sibling after a strange car pulled up in the driveway and the kids hid out in a bedroom with the gun.
