A Fayette woman will spend the rest of her life in prison for the 2021 murder of 8-month-old Hannah Kent in Columbia.
Forty-nine-year-old Jennifer Johnson was sentenced Monday to life for second-degree murder and 15 years on each of two child endangerment charges.
Prosecutors said Johnson was the only person who could have caused the baby’s fatal injuries while babysitting.
During sentencing, Hannah’s family delivered emotional statements, describing years of grief and trauma
Boone County Judge Brouck Jacobs handed down the sentence on Monday.
