In Boys Highschool Basketball District Semifinal action Tonight
in Class 4 District 8
Mexico and Fulton hooked up in a good one last night in the semi-final game.
Fulton lost the first two games the teams played this season. And, they lost this one too, by the biggest margin of three games, 54-41, but not without a fight.

The Hornets led 20-19 after a low scoring first half.
Mexico came out and immediately took the lead in the third quarter as they scored the first four points of the frame. The teams then traded leads throughout the third, as Fulton managed to get Mexico in some foul trouble.
Houston Fowler hit some key free throws for the Bulldogs late in the third before Charlie Fisher had a run out but Kaden Kleindienst hit a three as time expired to tie at the game at 35-all to end the third quarter.

MHS started a quick run that stretched to a six-point lead enroute to a 19-6 Mexico run.
Charlie Fischer led the Bulldogs with 13 points, while Brady Thoenen added 12. For Fulton,
Thomas Pittman led all scorers with 18 points and Paul Bruner, Jr. knocked in 14.

In the other Class 4 District 8 semifinal,
the Hallsville Indians held on to beat Moberly 57-52
The Indians were paced by Keilin Dorman’s 16 points and Tatum Braman’s 11. They led by as many as 15 in the first half and held a 30-18 margin at halftime.
The Spartans closed to within three with 90 seconds left, but couldn’t quite close the gap.
They were led by Kish Jacobs’ 15 points and Cameron Dubrava’s 14.

Blair Oaks beat out Osage – 78-70
Southern Boone beat out Boonville – 60-54

In Class 5 District 5
Helias beat out Father Tolton – 77-46
Capital City beat out Jefferson City – 73-62

In Class 6 District 7
Battle beat out Grain Valley – 63-57

In College Baseball
The Missouri Tigers baseball team Beat the University Illinois/Chicago Flames 9-8, in the opening game of their four-game weekend series at Taylor Stadium
The victory was Missouri’s ninth consecutive win, improving their season record to 11–2, while UIC dropped to 4–7. The Tigers utilized late-inning power with back-to-back home runs from Eric Maisonet and Isaiah Frost in the seventh inning to pull ahead.

In MLB
Norman Gorman homered early, and Jimmy Crooks singled in Joshua Baez in the 8th to break a 2-2 tie, as the St. Louis Cardinals beat out the Pittsburgh Pirates today, 3-2. Dustin May made his first spring start today and provided 3 scoreless innings.

The Kansas City Royals lost 15–9 to the Texas Rangers last night.
Royals starter Cole Ragans struggled in the first inning, allowing four runs.
Despite the loss, the Royals’ offense produced 9 runs, but the pitching staff surrendered a total of 15 runs to the Rangers.
