No one was seriously hurt after a massive fire broke out Friday morning at David’s Recycling in Fulton.
It happened around 10:50 a.m. on West 7th Street near U.S. 54. Owner Blake David says the blaze started while he was crushing a hybrid car gasoline mixed with a lithium battery and exploded.
Up to 15 vehicles caught fire, and it took six hours and more than two dozen firefighters from several districts to put it out.
Smoke reduced visibility on U.S. 54, and police urged residents to avoid the area.
