Berry hits 105mph in traffic chase

A Friday afternoon traffic stop turned into a high-speed pursuit for Boone County authorities.

At 1:54 p.m., an Ashland police officer stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E. Broadway, in Ashland.

According to Ashland Police, the driver, 48-year-old Emily Berry, had two active warrants from Boone County for Failure To Appear and had a suspended drivers license.

During the traffic stop, Berry was uncooperative and when advised she had an active warrant for arrest, she fled the scene.

Berry fled north on Highway 63 reaching speeds of up to 105 miles per hour.

Berry initially attempted to exit on both Discovery Parkway and Grindstone Parkway in Columbia, but was travelling too fast to make the exit and then was forced to slow to a stop due to traffic south of Stadium Boulevard on Highway 63.

She was then taken into custody without further incident.

She has been charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Stop and Driving While Revoked/Suspended.

She is currently in the Boone County Jail on a $7500 bond.
