Stephens College, the private women’s college in Columbia, has been rated as the No. 1 private, non doctoral institution on a recently released 2026–2027 Military Friendly Schools list.
The Military Friendly rating program springs from a group called VIQTORY, that’s mission is to introduce civilian employment, entrepreneurship and educational opportunities to the approximately 250,000 veterans re-entering civilian life each year.
Stephens College offers dedicated spaces for veterans and service members, including the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success. The center, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, opened in 2023 and is the home to the Mission Promise Kept program, that supports women veterans and service members.
