A Callaway County man accused of attacking a deputy with a hatchet is set to appear in court next week.
Twenty-year-old Slade Lamont has an arraignment scheduled for April 13 at 8:30 a.m. in Callaway County.
Investigators say Lamont swung the hatchet and struck a county lieutenant in the leg on February 20 before being taken into custody.
He faces several charges, including first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest.
Lamont remains in the Callaway County Jail without bond
