A Columbia man will serve 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in connection to a downtown shooting last year.
Deangelo Grant originally faced five charges, including assault and armed criminal action, but under a plea agreement was sentenced to six years for unlawful possession of a firearm and four years for unlawful use of a weapon, to be served consecutively.
The shooting happened near Tenth and Broadway in August 2024, where one person was shot in the torso and taken to a hospital.
Police say surveillance video placed Grant at the scene, and officers recovered six shell casings.
Nearby property was also damaged by gunfire.
