Westbound drivers on I-70 in Callaway County will soon see a major traffic shift.
Starting Tonight, crews will move traffic between mile markers 144 and 149 onto newly built median lanes as part of MoDOT’s Improve I-70 project.
That shift means no access to Route M at Exit 144 for several months.
Drivers will need to use Exit 148 in Kingdom City and take the outer road as a detour.
Westbound lanes will also be narrowed, speeds reduced to 55 miles per hour, and lane changes restricted in some areas.
The work is part of a $405 million project to add a third lane between Columbia and Kingdom City. MoDOT reminds drivers to slow down and stay alert in work zones.
