A Randolph County man is facing a felony charge after allegedly making threats against jail staff and county officials.
Court documents say 57-year-old John Loyd Weant of Clark submitted a grievance to the Randolph County Jail that began with the words, “Consider this a terrorist threat and warning.”
Investigators say the message included claims that Weant had associates skilled in explosives and threats against employees, elected officials and their families.
Jail staff reportedly moved Weant to an isolated cell due to safety concerns.
He is now charged with making a second-degree terrorist threat and is being held in the Randolph County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
