A former Boonville nonprofit director has been sentenced after admitting to stealing thousands of dollars from the organization she once led.
Jennifer Waibel, the former executive director of Unlimited Opportunities Incorporated, was sentenced Friday in Cooper County to five years of probation following 30 days of shock detention.
Investigators say Waibel used a company credit card to make nearly $50,000 in fraudulent purchases in 2023, including transactions at Walmart stores in Boonville and Columbia. She pleaded guilty in April to stealing more than $25,000.
Waibel also still faces additional fraud and stealing charges in Boone County, where another court hearing is scheduled for June 1.
