If you ventured west of Columbia this weekend you saw the latest Missouri Department of Transportation Improve I-70 Project up close and personal. The bridge at Providence and Ineterstate-70 was dismantled beginning Friday night as crews quickly cleared the debris.
Traffic was diverted over the on-ramps during the closure.
I- 70 was reopened to normal traffic late Saturday night.
MoDot hopes to have a new bridge in place by November.
