A former police officer in Ashland settled a wrongful termination lawsuit with the city for $1 million today.
Former officer Tom Whitener sued Ashland in 2023 after claiming that he was fired due to being a whistleblower when reporting misconduct against former police Chief Gabe Edwards.
The case was set to go to court on July 6th, but the issue has been settled out of court, and the hierarchy of the Ashland Police Department has seen great turnover in the times since.
