One former Jefferson City Correctional Center employee charged in connection with the 2023 death of inmate Othel Moore is headed toward trial, while charges against two other former staff members have been dismissed.
A five-day jury trial for Bryanne Bradshaw is scheduled to begin October 19 in Cole County.
Court proceedings for Justin Leggins and Jacob Case remain ongoing, with another hearing for Case set for August.
Prosecutors confirmed that criminal cases against Aaron Brown and Gregory Varner were dismissed more than a year ago, though no reason was provided.
Moore, 38, died in custody in December 2023 after he was allegedly pepper-sprayed and restrained during a contraband sweep at the prison.
