A Hermann man accused of murdering a police officer in 2023 was sentenced to death in court today.
Judge Craig Hellman imposed the death penalty on Kenneth Simpson after hearing victim statements regarding the murder of Sgt. Mason Griffith and the injury of Officer Adam Sullentrup in March of 2023. Sullentrup himself testified at the hearing.
Simpson was found guilty in January of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, assault, drug possession and other charges in January.
