Former State Lawyer Charged in Sting

A former top attorney for the Missouri Department of Revenue is facing a child enticement charge following an undercover operation in Boone County.

Investigators say 56-year-old Daniel Follett of Columbia traveled Tuesday to meet someone he believed was a 16-year-old girl after allegedly discussing paying for sexual acts online.

Authorities say the “girl” was actually an undercover decoy.

The Department of Revenue confirmed Follett’s employment has been terminated following his arrest.

He remains in the Boone County Jail without bond as the case moves through the court system.
