The Fulton Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire today in the 800 block of Middle Street.
Crews were called around 11:47 a.m. to find light smoke conditions and smoldering materials near a spilled ashtray on the main level of the residence. Firefighters extinguished the smoldering items and conducted ventilation and overhaul operations. No injuries were reported and two dogs were safely removed from the home during the search.
The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental, originating from improperly discarded smoking materials.
The Fulton Police Department, Callaway County Ambulance District, and Central Callaway Fire Protection District assisted on scene.
