A Columbia man was charged with multiple felonies Tuesday after being found with gun that was reported stolen.
33-year-old William Haynes Jr. reportedly called police about a shooting that occurred on June 24th where two people were injured. However, while investigating, officers found a Glock 27 pistol, which Haynes said was not his, and they also found a Taurus PT22. Officers were able to contact the original owner of that gun who reported it stolen and said he didn’t know Haynes.
Authorities also found 5.59 pounds of marijuana that was “not inside of licensed dispensary packaging and was not labeled.” They also found baggies, digital scales, at-home drug tests and about $3,000 in cash.
Haynes was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and stealing a gun. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.
