COU Parking Expansion

Columbia Regional Airport will close its north parking lot beginning August 3 as construction gets underway on about 250 new paved parking spaces.

Travelers returning after August 1 are being asked to park in the south lot instead and use the airport’s free shuttle service.

The $3.2 million project will replace the existing gravel lot with paved parking and is expected to wrap up by early December, weather permitting.

Airport officials say the expansion comes as passenger traffic continues to surge, with departures in June more than doubling compared to the same month last year.
