For only the second time in their 145-year history, the American Red Cross has announced a national blood crisis yesterday. (Monday)

Blood and plasma donations are significantly low, leaving vulnerable people in desperate need.

According to the American Red Cross Website, hospitals often have enough A, B, and AB type blood, but there is a consistent need for type O blood.

The last national blood crisis occurred in 2022.
