The Columbia Fire Department and Boone County Fire Protection District rescued the occupants of two cars that were trapped in high water early Thursday morning.
The cars were trapped on Blackfoot Road near Bear Creek, in the area near North Stadium Boulevard, and crews were called around 5:13 a.m.
All civilians were safely rescued minutes after arrival and no one was injured.
Both departments reminded drivers of the saying, “Turn around, don’t drown.” Do not risk driving through low flooded areas.
