Columbia restaurants close

A couple of Columbia area restaurants have closed recently.

Bud’s Classic BBQ has already closed with construction crews renovating the property.
Bud’s opened in 2021, and has been a barbecue staple for nearby University of Missouri students.

Jazz A Louisiana Kitchen, which was located near the Columbia Mall, has closed its doors. Owner Jeff England, in an interview with the Columbia Missourian, said the New Orleans cuisine inspired restaurant, which opened 22 years ago. had staffing issues dating back to the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

He cited a lack of trained cooking staff as a reason for the closure.

Meanwhile the owers of JoJo’s Biscuit Company, have announced they plan to expaned soon, and they are also set to open Rosie’s Tortillas and Tequila, to be located at 1305 Grindstone Parkway, which was formerly Casa Maria’s Mexican Cantina.
