Columbia Man Gets Arrested for Drugs at Boone County Courthouse

A Columbia man is facing drug and resisting arrest charges after authorities say he tried to flee the Boone County Courthouse Tuesday.

Court documents say 49-year-old Marcus Jordan placed his bag on the courthouse screening conveyor, where a marshal spotted what appeared to be a throwing star and a meth pipe.

After searching the bag, a glass meth pipe was located and Jordan was arrested, according to court documents.

But as a marshal read him his Miranda rights, authorities say Jordan ran toward the front door with his hands cuffed behind his back.

He allegedly ran into the door and fell before being taken back into custody.

Jordan faces charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $30,000.
